NEWS : AIDA Team Freediving World Championships 2010 Okinawa

"Freediving World Championships 2010 Okinawa", which started from June 30th, was closed on July 10th. And the closing ceremony was held at Tokyo Daiichi Hotel Okinawa Grand Mer Resort. 

The champion for male was Denmark, 2nd place Japan, and 3rd place Finland. The champion for female was Japan, 2nd place Russia, and 3rd place America. Awards and medal ceremony, and presentation of anniversary gifts from sponsors was done, 

During this championship, 1 world record and 10 national records were updated. 

Medals were awarded to athletes who have challenged and succeeded the deeper/ longer records in Constant Weight with Fins, Static Apnea, and Dynamic with Fins , and also to athletes who have world/national records to admire honor and distinction. 

To close the championship, Kimmo Lahtinen, the president of AIDA International gave the speech. He admired athletes for their power and achievement and appreciated organizing staff. Ryuzo Shinomiya, the organizer of the championship mentioned some appreciative words to athletes who came to Japan, and organizing staff. 

This World Championship was held for the first time in Asian region and ended without any major accident. That made facial expression of athletes and staff relieved and delighted.
