Result for the Static Competition

On July 8th, Static, a competition at the swimming pool, for "Freediving World Championships 2010 Okinawa" was held at indoor pool in the Okinawa pre. General Sports Park　(672 Hiyagon, Okinawa city, Okinawa prefecture). It was the second event for national team's matches which are competed by total points of three events by gender. Teams of 10 countries consist of male or mixed. Teams of 5 countries consist of female. Static is the competition to compete length of time to hold breath in the water.

24 male athletes entered static. Guy Brew（New Zealand) 8'27", William Trubridge（also New Zealand） 7'29", Jakob Hansen（Denmark) 7'23", Jesper Stechmann（also Denmark）7'07", and Antero Joki（Finland）achieved 7'04". 23 athletes succeeded the competition. Bjarte Nygaard from Norway established Norwegian national record with 6'31".
19 female athletes entered and all of them succeeded the competition. Natalia Molchanova（Russia) 7'31", Annabel Edward(USA) 6'28", Jessica Wilson (also USA) 6'26", and Hanako Hirose(Japan) achieved 6'13". Hirose established Japanese national record.

Provisional ranking at the moment for male is as follows. 1st Denmark(506.6 points, CWT 2nd), 2nd Japan(501.4 points, CWT 1st), 3rd France(488.8 points, CWT 3rd), 4th Finland(456 points, CWT 4th) and 5th USA(415.6 points, CWT 6th).

For female, 1st USA(391.6 points, CWT 4th), 2nd Russia(389.4 points, CWT 2nd), 3rd Japan(379.6 points, CWT 3rd ), 4th Czech(352.6 points, CWT 1st), and 5th France(332.4 points, CWT 5th).
On 9th, an official training for Dynamic with Fins to compete distance of diving underwater will be held at outdoor pool in the Okinawa pre. General Sports Park. The competition will start at 10 a.m. on 10th at the same place, and will be open to the public to watch it free of charge.
